If you have been looking for a way to experience the city’s creative pulse without the stiff atmosphere of a traditional gallery, Art Jakarta Gardens 2026 is exactly where you need to be.
Now entering its fifth edition, this event has transformed Hutan Kota by Plataran into a sprawling, open-air gallery, running from May 5 to 10. Since its successful debut in 2022, the fair has become a permanent highlight of the annual calendar, offering a fresh approach to the art market by hosting 26 premier galleries from across Indonesia and Asia.
The heart of the experience is undoubtedly the Sculpture Garden. Walking through the lush greenery, visitors will encounter over 30 impressive works by some of the biggest names in the region, including masters; Nyoman Nuarta, Sunaryo, and Tisna Sanjaya, alongside contemporary favorites, such as Naufal Abshar and Arkiv Vilmansa. As Artistic Director Enin Supriyanto points out, setting the fair in public park makes the art world feel more accessible and inviting for a broader audience.

This year’s collaborations add an extra layer of creativity, check out the “Tentacles of Wealth” installation by artist Mulyana and Bibit, featuring a whimsical knitted octopus named Mogus that represents the flexibility needed for a modern investment journey. For the tech-curious, iForte Energi and designer Sigit D Pratama have introduced Solagua, a solar-powered installation that uses a rhythmic water-mist sequence to explore the link between technology and nature. Even the logistics are handled with a designer’s touch: with TACO providing sculpture bases and recycling workshops, while LUAR offers weather-resistant furniture and umbrellas to handle Jakarta’s unpredictable rain.

To top it off, catch a live set at the music stage, where Plainsong Live has curated a fantastic lineup including Ali, The Cottons, and Batavia Collective. Between the performance art pieces and the guided curator tours, there is plenty to keep everyone engaged. For BCA customers, keep an eye out for those 10% ticket discounts and various cashback offers to make each visit even smoother.
