Some songs do not fade with time; some wait for the right moment to come and ready to impress new audiences all over again. EMO, or emotional hardcore, began as an outlet for feelings that were too heavy for conversation, rooted in honesty about sadness, longing, and frustration. Jakarta now sees this chapter return as an experience shared in real time with An EMOrchestra 2.0: THE BLACK SYMPHONY Revives, presented by Jakarta Concert Orchestra.
A show conducted by Avip Priatna and joined by Batavia Madrigal Singers alongside vocalists Farman Purnama, Stefani Yang, Ery Kumendong, and Dirly Dave, this symphonic concert reinterprets iconic EMO anthems through orchestral arranges, allowing familiar melodies to expand and intensify. Expect songs from artists such as My Chemical Romance, Paramore, Linkin Park, Evanescence, Avril Lavigne, Green Day, Simple Plan, Snow Patrol, Panic! at the Disco, and more, now layered with strings, brass, and choral harmonies that highlight both their emotional weight and musical construction.
The performance takes place on Saturday, 15 November 2025 at 19.30 WIB at Studio RCTI+, JL. Raya Perjuangan No. 1, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta. With a capacity of 1,800, the event invites audiences to join in a collective release, whether by singing along quietly or shouting every word. EMO has always thrived in the community and this concert aims to bring that shared catharsis into a grand orchestral setting, turning individual memories into something held together in sound.
