La Chaine des Rotisseurs Jakarta Bailliage scored another triumphant success with a marvellous dinner hosted by H. E. The Spanish Ambassador to Indonesia Francisco  Aguilera and Mme. Gemma Caminada at their beautiful residence.

The evening started in true chaine style, with a selection of delicious canapes accompanied by a fresh chilled sparkling Cava, as the guests assembled in the art-filled lounge of the residence. The Ambassador and the Bailli Jakarta Alistair Speirs, welcomed the guests and outlined the theme of the dinner which was to celebrate the long relationship between Spain and the Molluccas which had begun 400 hundred years ago and resulted in the adoption of the Indonesia spices into Spanish cuisine.

After a delightful rendition on Spanish classical guitar by Priscilla Setiawan, the guests assembled in the beautifully presented dining room where Chef Oskar from Txoko Restaurant introduced his adventurous and exciting menu, where each dish was expertly matched with a perfectly selected wine, each chosen and explained by the Ambassador himself. Here is the menu which was also designed by Chef Oskar.

As well as the menu being designed by the chef, the place mats were also designed by him and made a memorable gift to take home as well. The break in the meal was again accompanied by the strains of classical guitar.

The whole evening was a great success with as one member said , the liveliest conversation he had experienced, something which the Chaine Dinners in Jakarta have become well known for! A huge thanks go to Bailli Roy Widosuwito for his organization, to H.E. Francisco and Mme. Gemma for their outstanding hospitality – and the wines – and to Chef Oskar and his team for the splendid food. Vive la Chaine !
