At the kindergarten, children from age three are exposed to the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, a gentle and age-appropriate introduction to inquiry-based learning. Specialised and holistic teaching is a strong feature of the primary and secondary schools. ACG School’s Kindergarten helps students’ develop linguistic skills in Bahasa Indonesia, swimming, physical education, visual art and music, all alongside core subjects.

Vice-Principal Primary, Jennifer Kesler said kindergarten is an important opportunity for children to make a positive start to education. Sending children to kindergarten makes the all-important transition to ‘big school’ much easier,

“It helps them build social skills, confidence and independence and shapes a foundation of literacy and numeracy skills that provide the ideal set-up for the next stages of education,” she explains.

ACG School Kindergarten recently upgraded the school to create a fun learning environment for little ones. The principal said that the kindergarten environment determines how kids start loving the processing of learning. “the playground, the climbing frame, the sand pit, the reading corner, the dramatic play area, tables for group work, the construction area with blocks, train sets, recycling materials, tricycles, play houses, plants, iPads, projector, art area – we place a lot of emphasis on creating a caring, creative space for our kindergarten children,” Kesler said.

At the kindergarten age, the school also focuses on building a routine to sharpen students’ creative and emotional skills with songs, arts and crafts.
