The group has been designated as the official management company to operate MALAILLO, a phinisi yacht owned by PT Siji Sysstima. MALAILLO is an original phinisi, made by the Bugis in Tanjung Bira, Makassar, South Sulawesi. The traditional sailing boat has been transformed into a commercial yacht with luxurious interiors and lavish amenities.

The 45-metre yacht MALAILLO, meaning ‘never-ending’ in Bugis, will cater to 18 guests, with a total of 45 people on board including crew. The yacht will have 8 guest rooms, a restaurant, lounge, sun deck, internet connection and of course will offer diving facilities with trained instructors. Other than for holidays, ARTOTEL’s new venture will also be available for family, corporate, or wedding rentals or full book-outs.

Of course, phinisi’s are new to the Indonesian-born hospitality group, and whilst it will certainly add new challenges, the company’s signature style is likely to add something new to what the yacht industry already offers. “As a phinisi operator, we will create a one of a kind sailing experience in true ARTOTEL style, from the interior with art infused from emerging local artists, 24 hour Food & Beverage experiences, and art inspired activities including an art exhibition, workshop, and musical performances,” said Eduard Rudolf Pangkerego, COO ARTOTEL Group.

MALAILLO will launch under ARTOTEL in March 2020, offering trips to Labuan Bajo and Raja Ampat.
