As breast cancer remains one of Indonesian women’s most pressing health issues, ASRI through ASHTA District 8 collaborated with Lovepink and supported by Wardah to present Brushstrokes of Hope: an art exhibition that expresses solidarity for breast cancer survivors and the surrounding community.

Starting 22 September 2025, Brushstrokes of Hope will showcase a series of paintings, sculptures, and mixed media works by 12 female artists, young talents, and breast cancer survivors. Each work carries a personal story about the journey of fighting fear, loss, and rediscovering strength and hope. The 12 artists include Anindya Anugrah, Bethania Brigitta, Fiametta Gabriela, Lala Bohang, Michelle Tan, Naela Ali, Prajna Dewantara, Ruth Marbun, Samantha Barbara, Septy Hera, Tusita Mangalani, Wina Li, and Yessiow.

Lovepink itself is a non-profit organization focused on raising awareness about early detection of breast cancer. Since its establishment in 2012, Lovepink has supported over 17,500 breast cancer survivors. Therefore, with the vision of reducing the number of advanced-stage breast cancer patients by 2030, Lovepink collaborated with ASHTA to create a medium to achieve this vision.

As an Indonesian beauty brand that consistently supports women’s movements, Wardah is the main sponsor of Brushstrokes of Hope. Through its participation, Wardah presents Activation at Canvas of Courage, where visitors can write messages of support and prayers for survivors, and a Digital Competition – Pink Expressions with the hashtag #ASHTAWardahPinkPower, which invites the community to express hope and courage through digital art.

In addition to the art exhibition and the Canvas of Courage, visitors were invited to participate in various interactive programs. Voices of Strength is a series of talks every Saturday afternoon with experts, ranging from discussions about breast cancer myths, nutrition for recovery, to a special survivors panel titled “My Healing Journey”. The Pink Screening breast ultrasound activity, using Lovepink’s mobile Pink Van, provides easy access to breast screening.

In the first week of October, Lovepink will hold a Pink Screening in the SCBD Lobby area, inviting 20-25 ASHTA District 8 tenant staff to receive free breast ultrasounds and health education on early detection. ASHTA also encourages visitors to support the cause through its Shop with Purpose program, where a portion of the proceeds from special menu items and limited-edition merchandise will be donated. Additionally, visitors who spend a minimum of IDR 750,000 at tenant stores and pop-up exhibitions will receive an IDR 100,000 ASRI Living voucher, as well as a complimentary pink drink for IDR 300,000 minimum purchases.

“In 2014, the Lovepink community was officially established under the name Yayasan Daya Dara Indonesia with a mission to provide moral support to patients and their families as well as access to education and information about breast cancer, risk factors, and how to detect it,” stated Samantha Barbara, Supervisor of Yayasan Daya Dara Indonesia & a breast cancer survivor herself. “Through Brushstrokes of Hope with ASHTA District 8, we want to provide information and a space for art, as well as to inspire courage, solidarity, and celebrate life.”

“As a beauty brand that always prioritizes halal, innovative, and inspiring values, Wardah believes that every woman has the power to be an agent of change. With Brushstrokes of Hope and Wardah Pink Power, Wardah embraces fellow women to support and care for one another. We hope that our support will serve as a preventive measure and encouragement for breast cancer survivors,” said Findi Novia, Group Head of Halal Beauty Decorative Marketing.

“ASHTA District 8 is a canvas for stories, encounters, and meaningful experiences. Through Brushstrokes of Hope, we want to present art that is beautiful to look at, touches the heart, opens the eyes, and becomes part of a larger movement to raise awareness about breast cancer and health, especially among women,” expressed Leonardo Slatter, Center Experience Sr Manager at ASHTA District 8.

Brushstrokes of Hope presents art not only as a work of art, but as a universal language that bridges pain and hope. It is an invitation to not walk alone, but to hold hands together on the journey to healing.
