April is Earth Month, a time to celebrate our planet and take actions to protect it. Through “A Team Effort”, Starbucks invites its customers across Indonesia to be mindful of ways to help planet earth by focusing on individual use of recycled, or reusable, items, to a celebration of the small things to do together with team spirit.

Starbucks is taking conscious steps to create a more environmentally-friendly experience for customers and partners by introducing several stylish merchandises from upcycled materials, offer greater choices through plant-based food and drinks, as well as several programs that invite customers to give back to the earth including reusable programs, ethical sourcing, and waste reduction.

Special for this year’s Earth Month, Starbucks launches a new merchandise series featuring circular cups made from coffee and upcycled plastic with a capacity of 12oz and a leak-proof silicone seal. This double wall tumbler can withstand the heat or cold of your favourite drink. Also, tote bags made from canvas twill and upcycled plastic have a 16” laptop compartment capacity inside, as well as a compartment for drinking bottles on the side with a strong strap that is easy to carry. This tote bag is suitable to accompany your daily day and complement your style.

Especially for Starbucks Rewards members, customers can get an exclusive upcycled laptop bag just by making an accumulated purchase of up to IDR 1 Million using the Starbucks Indonesia application during the period 1-30 April 204 (Terms and Conditions Apply). Just like the tote bag, this laptop bag is also made from canvas twill and upcycled plastic that fits a 14” laptop and has a small compartment inside for stationery/small items.

For vegans, you can enjoy Vegan Vish Sandwich and Vegan Blueberry Cheesecake Parfait made in collaboration between Starbucks and local partners, Green Rebel, and Vegan Cinnamon Spikoe Cookies. The partners also do not forget to continue to offer plant-based milk as an alternative to milk to customers -from soymilk, almondmilk, to oatmilk.

Starbucks is also holding the “A Team Effort” campaign by inviting customers to donate coffee tree seeds to coffee farmers in Bali for every purchase they make from 15 April 15 to 12 May 2024. Customers only have to make a transaction using the Starbucks Rewards application –for every 5 items transaction, the customer has donated 1 coffee tree seedling which can be tracked in the application.

“Starbucks’ main focus for Earth Month this year is ‘A Team Effort’ – in line with Starbucks’ promises
to partners, customers and the environment where we live. We want to invite all of you to turn big
goals into real possibilities by coming together as a team and focusing on the work we do. No matter
how small the steps we have taken to love the earth, if they are combined, they will definitely make a
big difference,” said Liryawati, Chief Marketing Officer of PT Sari Coffee Indonesia.

At the end of the period, the 5 customers who have successfully collected the most coffee seeds in
the application are entitled to take part in a Coffee Trip with Starbucks to Bali for 3 days and 2 nights  including taking part in a ceremonial handover of donated coffee tree seeds to coffee farmers in Bali
and a tour of the Starbucks Reserve Dewata including the Coffee Experience Center, and also Starbucks
Kintamani.

“We believe it is our responsibility to build a more sustainable, equitable and resilient future for
coffee, our communities, and our planet. We are working to create the future we dream of through
the lens of humanity, with a deep commitment to global human rights, responsible and ethical
sourcing, community leadership from our partners and a focus on giving more than we take from the
planet,” Liryawati closed.
