The French Embassy – Institut français d’Indonésie (IFI), in partnership with the Alliance Française of Indonesia, Business France, and the Disciples Escoffier Indonesia, have organised the third edition of French Gastronomy Week entitled “Le Goût de France – Cita Rasa Prancis, j’adore !”.
It is an event that celebrates the universal language of gastronomy, featuring French, Indonesian, and chefs of other nationalities who contribute to bringing French cuisine to life in Indonesia. From 1 to 13 October 2025, more than 140 restaurants in 40 cities across 10 islands on the archipelago offer menus and events centered around French cuisine.
This 3rd edition will also feature culinary demonstrations by well-acclaimed Michelin-starred Chef Andrée Rosier, which will explore the richness of Indonesian spices and cuisine, as well as aiming to inspire young aspiring female chefs in the male-dominated culinary world. She will collaborate with local chefs to host special dinners in Jakarta (Lyon at Mandarin Oriental Hotel) on 2 October, among other cities.
Another highlight will be the participation of food illustrator Guillaume Long, known for his culinary series “À boire et à manger” (To Drink and To Eat in which its illustrated columns published in Le Monde journal have been compiled into albums. Accompanied by his wife, pastry chef Claire Geraghty, he will lead drawing workshops and cooking demonstrations in several cities, including Jakarta.
For aspiring chefs, an open public French recipe contest is held on Instagram, with the final inviting 10 finalists to compete for the grand prize in Jakarta on 11 October. This includes a flight to Paris offered by Emirates Airlines.
