The Hermitage Jakarta’s 1928 Restaurant has unveiled its latest culinary experiences, launching a new concept for their ‘1928 Sunday Brunch’ and a weekday lunch experience dubbed ‘1928 Makan Tengah’. Created by Executive Chef Ferdian Tobing, the two new programmes will present what The Hermitage is known for: refined dining with an Indonesian touch.

The New 1928 Sunday Brunch

Available every Sunday from 11.30am to 2.30pm, the new Sunday brunch concept presents a fusion of both unlimited dining and set-menu experience.

The indulgences kick off with Seafood Delight on Ice, served in a bowl followed by an all-you-can-eat selection of starters. Fresh, exquisite offerings await with a richly flavoured Lobster Bisque, Caesar Salad prepared in a parmigiana cheese wheel, plus delectable cold cuts and cheese station.

Following this is a refined, 5-course degustation menu. This begins with Baked Lobster drizzled with Hollandaise sauce and served with potato rosti and rocket; continuing to a Herb-Crusted Salmon with Salmon Roe and Tomato Salad. Before transitioning to the meat selections, Chef Tobing introduces a palate-cleansing Javanese Tamarind Sorbet. The daytime delights continue with Wagyu Beef Steak, complemented by a mix of mushroom mashed potato and grilled king oyster mushroom. Chef Tobing’s culinary prowess shines in the Miso Glazed Chicken Leg served with shirataki rice and enoki mushroom tempura, creating the perfect poultry dish.

The piece de resistance is the Wagyu Beef Risotto, featuring wagyu beef cheek and truffle risotto. Finally, the brunch concludes with your choice of freshly prepared Pancakes, Waffles or Brioche French Toast, served with ice cream and toppings, all prepared and served at your table.

The 1928 Brunch is priced at IDR 688.000++ per person, unlimited alcoholic beverages are available for an additional IDR 200.000++ per person.

1928 Makan Tengah

Inspired by the traditional Indonesian lunch, where families would gather around a ‘rantang’(tiffin box), the new 1928 Makan Tengah emulates this shared experience as a lunchtime offering. The lunch includes soup, appetiser, main, sides and dessert.

This unique luncheon begins with soup, offering the options of Soto Tangkar (a Betawi beef soup) Soto Ayam Bakar (grilled chicken soup). This continues into a choice of appetisers, including Dabu Dabu Tuna Salad, Gado-Gado, and Urap Segoro. For the main course, patrons can select two dishes from a variety of Indonesian classics, such as Sate Ayam, the renowned Empal Bakar Taman Meriam, Ayam Kareseup Nini, Bebek Nabun, the delicious Pindang Bandeng, and Chili Prawn. Vegetable choices include Broccoli with Salted Fish and Stir Fried Green Beans, with an option to pair the meal with Hermitage Tutug Rice or the famous Wagyu Fried Rice.

The dining experience concludes with a refreshing serving of the beloved Es Teler, inspired by the renowned dessert drink from Jalan Cilacap.

1928 Makan Tengah is available Monday to Friday between 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM, with a set price of IDR 375,000++ per set, suitable for up to three people, and includes limitless servings of mineral water.
