Kinokuniya Bookstore, a renowned Japanese-born bookstore that has been a part of Indonesia’s literary landscape for 34 years, is now delighting book lovers once again with its reopening at Sogo Plaza Senayan, found on the mall’s 5th floor. Adopting a minimalist concept, the store creates a comfortable space for book enthusiasts to browse and purchase their favourite titles.

Spanning an area of 100 square metres, Kinokuniya houses a collection of approximately 500,000 titles. The store offers a diverse range of books, including bestsellers and rare finds, across genres such as comics, children’s books, fiction and literature, and Japanese books. The bookstore also sells a variety of stationery.

Handaka Santosa, Managing Director of Kinokuniya Bookstore, highlights that Kinokuniya is more than just a place to purchase books, it is a place of community gathering aimed at engaging younger audiences and fostering a love for reading. This is done through the bookstore hosting regular events celebrating pop culture, latest trends, book communities and more.

This latest opening brings a total of three Kinokinuya stores in Jakarta, found in Grand Indonesia West Mall LG, Central Market PIK and Plaza Senayan.
