Thanks to its modern development in infrastructure, excellent services and accessibility, Korean MICE destinations have become as one of the best meetings and conferences tourism trend in the world. Embassy of The Republic of Korea in Jakarta together with Korea Tourism Organization held an event last month about the Korea MICE Roadshow 2019 to foster the ties between Korea and Indonesia on MICE area.

2017 UIA statistics report show that South Korea has gain popularity for leading international conventions with around 1,105 meetings, placing it first in the world for the second year running. Seoul and Busan are renowned for the most dynamic city for business events, as both cities are harnessing its capacities for meetings, incentives conferences and exhibitions with the most technologically advanced and modern functioning area and equipment. For these reasons, Seoul and Busan occupy the third position and ninth as the cities holding and supporting international meetings.

Not only does the MICE roadshow showcase Korea as an ideal global business event destination, but this year’s roadshow also provides detailed information about many incentives offered to visitors, employers, stakeholders and delegates planning meetings or events in the country. The city of Suwon, Busan and Gangwon Province will be the key role in the development of MICE tourist destinations for 2019. With this in mind, other cities are hoped to follow the success of Seoul and Busan in becoming the world’s MICE tourist destinations.

Embassy of The Republic of Korea in Jakarta together with Korea Tourism Organization held an event last month about the Korea MICE Roadshow 2019.

“We are proud to share that there is a significant rise in the number of MICE tourists from Indonesia to Korea.”, Director of KTO Jakarta Andrew Kim Jonghoon, said. “Unlike 2017, an increase of more than 50 per cent was shown in the last 2018, making it a great potential and positive outlook. As the Korean MICE industry has reached substantial growth, we are also trying hard to keep up the rising travel trends and expected to have positive valuable achievements in all sectors in the future”, he added.
