One of NOW!Jakarta's long-term partners in education, The Gandhi Memorial Intercontinental School (GMIS), was recently recognised by the magazine, for its commitment to providing education and cultivating responsible citizenship.
The school has engaged with the city and country at large in several projects. Recently GMIS worked with one of NOW!Jakarta’s education initiatives—with Yayasan Biji Sesawi, a non profit organisation that works on empowering communities—to provide much needed art materials for schools in Papua.
Established in 1950, GMIS provides a dynamic learning community, propagates lifelong learning through a challenging, multidisciplinary, internationally transferable curriculum fulfilling the diverse needs of students.
The school provides an atmosphere where diversity is considered a strength and where differences are seen as assets.
