To commemorate Indonesia’s Independence Day, The Dharmawangsa Jakarta is presenting an array of events to celebrate the glory of Indonesia’s cuisine heritage called “Sriwijaya: Gastronomy Treasures of the Maritime Empire” from 27 August until 3 September 2023.
In collaboration with Javara Indonesia, a prominent advocate for preserving Indonesia’s food biodiversity heritage, the Sriwijaya event – held at The Dharmawangsa Jakarta’s Sriwijaya Restaurant and Majapahit Lounge – is inspired by and will highlight the maritime influence and culinary traditions of the Sriwijaya empire.
Step into a bygone era with “Sriwijaya High Tea”, where the rich herbs and spices of the legendary Sriwijaya empire create an exquisite indulgence. Immerse yourself in selections of perfectly paired dishes and fine teas that will take you back in time. The “Sriwijaya High Tea” is available from 1 to 31 August 2023, 01.00 PM – 06.00 PM at the Majapahit Lounge, priced at IDR 595,000++ per person.
Introduce your taste buds to something quite different with the “Gastronomy Treasures of The Maritime Empire” dinner available from 27 August – 3 September 2023, starting at 07.00 PM – 11.00 PM at the Sriwijaya Restaurant. Helianti Hilman from Javara Indonesia shares her expertise in Indonesian food biodiversity and collaborates with Executive Chef Emmanuel Julio to craft a menu that revives the splendours of the Sriwijaya empire’s gastronomy legacy. The dinner options include an à la carte selection, as well as a degustation menu.
