On Saturday, 17th May, BWA will host the BWA Charity Ball at the legendary Mandarin Oriental Jakarta. BWA balls have been a highlight in Jakarta social calendar for many years, though sadly had to be cut back during the covid years, but this year the BWA committee were determined to return with a ball reminiscent of the fantastic past balls, such as the 2020 Arabian Nights Ball.

On Saturday, 17 May 2025, BWA will host the BWA Charity Ball at the Mandarin Oriental Jakarta. After the COVID years necessitated cutbacks, the BWA committee was dead set on coming back to the Jakarta social calendar with a return to form reminiscent of past balls, like 2020’s Arabian Nights Ball.

The British Women’s Association (BWA) is more than a community—it’s a dynamic network of women from all walks of life, united by a spirit of friendship, cultural exchange and a shared passion for giving back. Based in Jakarta, BWA has been at the heart of both expat and local life for decades, championing social causes and building lifelong connections.

This year’s ball promises to be a fun night of glamour & entertainment. With a dress code of black tie or dressing up as a favourite fashion icon, guests will be treated to a gourmet three-course dining experience, bubbles, beer and free-flow drinks throughout the evening, live music and dancing into the night, and a dazzling Fashion Show celebrating 50 years of iconic British style—with an Indonesian twist.

Ever popular for years now, this year’s BWA fashion show runway will feature stunning creations by renowned local designer Ibu Yurita Puji, who blends classic British fashion with the textures of Indonesian batik. It’s a can’t-miss celebration of heritage, creativity, and striking fashions modelled by members of the expat community.

While the evening sparkles with elegance, its true purpose shines even brighter. As guests dance the night away to the live music of the band “Center Stage”, money raised from the Charity Ball will directly support BWA’s vital social welfare projects—including much-needed medical equipment for a neonatal clinic that provides care for premature babies in low-income families.

BWA looks forward to hosting members and associates for a night of elegance, unity, and impact: making a difference in the lives of the less fortunate. Priced at IDR 2 million for members and IDR 2.2 million for non-members, the BWA Charity Ball isn’t just a party—it’s a night where generosity meets glamour.
