Known for its adorable behaviour and its favorite food, bamboo, the Pandas at Taman Safari Bogor is a favourite among young visitors.  The black-and-white bears named Cai Tao and Hu Chun can be found at Istana Panda.

The pandas are the result of a breeding program between China National Zoo and Taman Safari Indonesia.

Recently,  Taman Safari Bogor welcomed the red panda from breeding program between the unique bear named Xing Xing and Bai Bai, born in January.

Taman Safari Indonesia has been promoting the conservation programm in addition to its recreation area and attraction. The goal is to provide a better place for rare animals to save them from extinction. For example, in 1980, the safari park was involved in the Ganesha Operation at Sumatra to protect the Sumatran Elephants from habitat loss and other issues .

Clearing animal habitats for housing, agriculture and industrial use are the principal causes of habitat destruction. From its humble beginnings, Taman Safari has successfully become Indonesia’s most loved conservation institutes and also one of Indonesia’s most popular natural theme parks.

Taman Safari Bogor is home to the first true wildlife conservation and recreation park in Indonesia since 1986. The second safari park in Prigen, East Java covers about 250 hectares of prime fertile land and is the biggest and largest safari park in Asia. In 2007, the third safari park was established in Gianyar, Bali known as Bali Safari & Marine Park, designated as safari park that combine animal conservation and Balinese culture.  In 2010, Taman Safari established Batang Dolphins Center (BDC) in Central Java to provide a place for dolphin conservation, breeding, research, and education.

Taman Safari Indonesia continues to educate communities on issues of conservation through fun activities in the hope of conveying the importance of preserving our environment.
