From 11 AM to 9 PM, guests are welcome to explore the refined beauty and modern reinterpretation of Chinese wedding culture at Tien Chao, the hotel’s signature Cantonese restaurant and a fitting ceremonial backdrop. However, the showcase isn’t merely about aesthetics, it’s a homage to the deep traditions and rituals that shape Chinese weddings, such as the Sangjit Ceremony that symbolises respect, unity and prosperity between two families.
The runway unveiled Shanghai ’62, a mesmerising bridal collection inspired by the moody sophistication and quietly intense desire of 1960s Shanghai and In the Mood for Love. Each creation reflected the magnetic charm of East meets West, where traditional silhouettes were reimagined through modern tailoring, and the delicate tension between restraint and rebellion, where soft femininity was contrasted with bold architectural lines. From intricately embroidered and beaded gowns to velvet tops paired with appliqued French lace skirts, every stich and piece speaks of craftsmanship and artistry.
More than a fashion showcase, Celestial Elegance also serves as an initiative to reintroduce Tien Chao to a younger audience and engaged couples. With its warm tones and service, intricate Chinese elements, exquisite cuisine, and refined ambiance, Tien Chao continues to evolve with the times while preserving its trademark authentic heritage.
