Inspired by those family nights out where everyone wants something different, Shally’s Dining Jakarta brings three favourite cuisines under one roof.
Nestled on the first floor of Wisma BNI 46, on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Shally’s introduces warmth into Jakarta’s central business district. The restaurant’s design reflects modern sensibilities, delivered with a cosy touch: brick textures, warm lighting and the large booth seats create a homey atmosphere.
Shally’s was conceptualised as a place to come together: during the busy work week, that materialises as business lunches and casual meetings, but at night, it’s friends and family. In either case, diners have come to learn that Shally’s is a dining spot that can appease the cravings of everyone at the table. This was the vision of the restaurant’s founder, Shilpa Dave, after whom the restaurant is named – her husband’s pet name for his wife (a charming little back story).

Better known as the founder of Ganesha ek Sanskriti, now Southeast Asia’s largest Indian restaurant brand, Shally’s came out of Shilpa’s own experiences of dining out with family – everyone wants something different! As a restaurateur, she sought to find a solution and brought three all-time-favourite cuisines under one roof: Italian, Thai and Indonesian.
Authenticity in Every Dish
Now, you might be thinking, isn’t that just an international restaurant? Not quite, Shally’s defines themselves as a ‘multi-cuisine’ restaurant, serving authentic dishes from each cuisine, prepared all in one kitchen.
To ensure authenticity of flavour, Shally’s recruits chefs from each region, aiming to always have an Italian, Thai and Senior Indonesian chef in control of their particular cuisine. This philosophy was actually born from Shilpa’s experience with preparing Indian cuisine at Ganesha, understanding that even between north and south Indian cuisines required a familiarised palate. So, that philosophy continues at Shally’s with each chef ensuring the authenticity of their homegrown flavours.
As one can imagine, the dishes at one table become an eclectic selection. Shared appetisers might include ‘Calamari Fritti’ alongside a plate of ‘Tahu Isi’; or ‘Bruschetta Al Pomodoro’ alongside a ‘Som Tam Thai Salad’ (raw young papaya) – both fresh and tart starters, but with vastly different flavour profiles.

From the imported Italian pizza oven come the ultimate crowd pleasers like the ‘Pizza Quatro Formaggi’ and ‘Pizza Ai Fungi e Tartufo’ (truffle and mushroom). For pasta lovers, the ‘Seafood Pasta’ is a standout dish: prawns, squid and clams cooked in a rich, herby tomato sauce, with spaghetti cooked al dente.
If you prefer noodles over pasta, then take your pick from the classic ‘Pad Thai’ or ‘Mie Goreng Kampung’, or indulge in hearty curry dishes, offering the spicy and aromatic Thai Green and Red curries.
The ‘Nasi Goreng Kambing’ is the restaurant’s most celebrated Indonesian dish, prepared with premium lamb meat that elevates this Indonesian comfort food.
Dessert becomes quite the occasion: where else can you find an authentic Italian ‘Tiramisu’ served with a traditional Thai ‘Mango Sticky Rice?’ To us, desserts are borderless, and can (and should!) be enjoyed side-by-side, be it the silky Mango Panna Cotta to the indulgent Choco Lava Cake, with its rich, molten chocolate centre melting into the scoop of chocolate ice cream. Afterwards, perhaps a plate of ‘Pisang Goreng’ to go with after-meal teas and coffees?

The multi-cuisine menu adds to the togetherness of the dining experience as everyone swaps their plates around, or tries each other’s dishes. The restaurant is thus the perfect place for indecisive groups who can’t seem to settle on where to go, be it multicultural office teams to big multigenerational families. The restaurant has thus become the go-to choice for friends and family in such moments – “Let’s just go to Shally’s!”
A Place for Celebration
Since they opened in October 2024, Shally’s Dining has become a quintessential venue for celebrations, able to host birthday parties, corporate events and even intimate weddings, with a capacity up to 300 people.
For those seeking a more exclusive setting, a private room offers comfort and discretion for smaller gatherings, while a designated smoking area ensures that all guests can relax without any disruption. Buffet options are available for larger groups, while à la carte dining caters to smaller parties. The flexibility allows Shally’s to serve weekday office lunches and weekend family gatherings with ease.
Shally’s Dining is a reflection of family values, culinary authenticity and a desire to bring people together. Italian pizzas, Thai curries, and Indonesian favourites are presented with balanced attention, creating an experience that everyone can love.
