The hours before a long-haul flight are usually spent waiting. But for travellers, they can also be an important moment to rest and prepare for the journey ahead. At Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Palmeera Lounge is responding to this change by offering more comfort, privacy, and personal service before departure.
The lounge has been designed with different travel styles in mind. Guests looking for a quieter start to their journey will notice a greater emphasis on privacy. The VIP and VVIP areas provide a more exclusive setting away from the main lounge, while the VVIP section also offers à la carte dining prepared to guests’ preferences.

As one of the lounge’s main guest groups, umrah and hajj travellers have inspired many of its design choices. “For many guests, especially those travelling for umrah and hajj, comfort and peace of mind are important parts of the journey,” said Tomi Isnawan, Managing Director of Palmeera Lounge, during the house warming event held on 4 August 2026. Different seating options, from sofas to dining tables and supportive chairs for elderly guests, are intended to make the time before a long flight more comfortable.
Another feature at the lounge is butler-style assistance for premium guests. More commonly found in luxury hotels, the service allows staff to help with requests and make the wait before boarding a little easier. The same attention to detail can also be found in the lounge’s food and beverage offerings. Palmeera Lounge serves Indonesian dishes that remind guests of home before a long journey, while the coffee station offers freshly prepared drinks from baristas, including espresso-based options and manual brews.

With its size and updated service concept, Palmeera Lounge ranks among the larger airport lounges in Southeast Asia. The same concept is also being prepared as a model for future expansion to other airports across Indonesia. As travel continues to grow, airport lounges are becoming an increasingly important part of the journey with attentive hospitality and convenience now high on travellers’ lists.
