It seems the world never runs out of creative ways to make running more fun. This December, Ascott Indonesia is adding a whimsical twist by inviting runners to lace up their shoes while still dressed in their pyjamas. PajamASRun, the group’s first-ever thematic running event, blends fitness, comfort, and community spirit into one delightfully memorable experience.
Set to take place on 7 December 2025 at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), PajamASRun is far from an ordinary race. Organised by Ascott Indonesia, part of The Ascott Limited, the event introduces a fresh, playful concept that transforms the traditional run into an experience brimming with personality. Participants are encouraged to don their cosiest sleepwear as they take on either a 5.5K or 7.5K route distances designed to welcome everyone, from first-timers curious to try something new to seasoned runners looking for a cheerful change of pace.
The choice of pyjamas is more than a quirky gimmick. It’s a nod to Ascott’s long-standing reputation for comfort and rest, values that lie at the heart of its hospitality philosophy. PajamASRun brings this spirit beyond its serviced residences, turning wellness into something both accessible and memorable.
“PajamASRun is a new running format we’re introducing to the public,” shared Philip Barnes, Country General Manager of The Ascott Limited Indonesia. “With distances suitable for all participants and a unique pajama theme, we aim to create an enjoyable running experience that reflects Ascott Indonesia’s identity, while delivering comfort and memorable moments. Beyond the fun, this is about connecting with our community and making healthy living something everyone can enjoy.”
Designed to feel more like a festival than a competition, PajamASRun combines a relaxed yet energetic atmosphere with a full line-up of entertainment and wellness activities at the venue. Families, friends, and colleagues can gather to run, laugh, and unwind together, making it as much a social occasion as a fitness one. Each registered runner will receive a race pack, a finisher’s medal, and entry tickets to TMII, ensuring the experience extends well beyond the track.
True to Ascott’s commitment to meaningful engagement, PajamASRun also carries a charitable mission. Donations from the event will be channelled through its official NGO partners, providing tangible, sustainable support to communities in need. In this way, every step taken contributes not only to personal well-being but also to collective good.
Registration is now open and will remain available until 20 November 2025. Participants can also take advantage of special accommodation packages at select Ascott Indonesia properties, allowing them to turn the event into a restful weekend getaway.
