Jakarta’s social scene saw one of its most anticipated gatherings returned on 9 May 2026. The British Women’s Association (BWA) Jakarta brought a touch of Royal Ascot to the city on that evening, as its annual Charity Ball returned with a race-day-inspired theme in support of Rachel House.

The evening unfolded with plenty of memorable moments. Friendly competition filled the charity auction, raffle prizes added excitement throughout the night, and a fashion show featuring BWA members brought an extra sense of personality and fun to the occasion. More than anything, the gathering reflected the energy of a community that believes good company and good causes belong together.

While the dress code brought plenty of style to the evening, the real focus was Rachel House, the Indonesian organisation providing paediatric palliative care for children with serious illnesses. The event brought together BWA members, friends, and supporters from across Jakarta, all united by the same goal of raising funds for the charity.

Proceeds from the evening were presented to Rachel House, supporting its ongoing care for children and families in need. As Indonesia’s first paediatric palliative care organisation, Rachel House provides support that extends beyond medical treatment, offering comfort at every stage of a family’s journey.

For BWA Jakarta, charitable work has always gone hand in hand with friendship and cultural exchange. Established more than 50 years ago, the association has built a long tradition of supporting organisations across Indonesia, with the Charity Ball remaining one of its most anticipated events each year.
