In mid-December, Alila Jakarta’s Executive Chef Sudiyono prepared an exquisite 5-course dinner at the hotel restaurant. The dishes – a modern interpretation of Indonesian food – were paired with Two Islands Reserve wines.

Two Islands Reserve wines originate from the wine region of South Australia, whereas the fermentation, winemaking, maturation and bottling of the Australian-grown grapes are completed in a winery in Sanur.
The dinner began with the refreshing “Tuna Asap with Dabu-Dabu Salad”, paired with Two Islands Reserve Chardonnay, followed by the delicious “Alila Soto Mie with Yellow Noodles, Beef and Vegetable Spring Rolls”, served alongside a glass of the silky yet fruity Two Islands Reserve Pinot Noir.
The beautifully presented “Gindara Nasi ‘Brengkes’ – Indonesian Curry Hejo and Steamed Rice Wrapped in a Jati Leaf” came with Two Islands Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, while the “Bistik Daging – Beef Braised with Perkedel Gagal” was paired with the rich Two Islands Reserve Shiraz. As dessert, diners were served a “Japas Bamboo Platter” and Pino de Bali, a sweet dessert wine resembling Port wine.
Throughout the evening, children of the Ant Charity Foundation entertained the diners with angklung performances. Ant Charity, which was established in 2008, aims to help underprivileged children through educational and health programs.
