The Women’s International Club (WIC) Jakarta successfully hosted its 56th Annual Charity Bazaar on 19-20 November 2025, at Hall B of the Jakarta International Convention Center. The event once again brought together cultures, communities, and goodwill under one roof.
This year’s bazaar was officially opened by the second lady, Selvi Gibran Rakabuming. Also in attendance was Fathul Jannah Muhidin, spouse of the Governor of South Kalimantan, further underscoring the event’s significance. The Regional Government of South Kalimantan served as the main sponsor of this year’s bazaar, represented by Governor Muhidin and his spouse.

The South Kalimantan pavilion captivated visitors with its traditional woven fabrics, local cuisine, artisanal crafts, and tourism promotions. The opening performance featured the Baksa Kembang dance, a beloved cultural piece from South Kalimantan symbolising the region’s natural beauty, the warmth of its people, and the vibrancy of daily life, gracefully expressed through the movements of the dancers as a heartfelt welcome.
This year’s bazaar showcased around 41 embassy stalls, from the Republic of Armenia to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, alongside 225 business booths, including 29 food and beverage stalls, three charity stalls, WIC merchandise booths, and the signature White Elephant stall.
WIC extends its deepest gratitude to the embassies in Jakarta whose ongoing support has helped ensure the event’s smooth and successful execution. Their participation enriches the bazaar by sharing the culture, traditions, and heritage of their respective nations, deepening visitors’ appreciation of global diversity.

As an organisation, WIC serves as a platform for women from various countries to meet, build meaningful friendships, exchange ideas, and broaden their understanding of different cultures. With a strong commitment to social impact, especially in education, WIC’s main fundraising initiative is the Annual Charity Bazaar. Proceeds from the event support WIC’s social welfare programs, which provide monthly assistance to several senior homes and orphanages, as well as annual scholarships for students at state universities.
The White Elephant Stall remains one of the bazaar’s signature features, offering donated new and gently used items, with all proceeds directed toward supporting those in need.
This year’s event ran smoothly and exceeded expectations, as reflected in the high turnout and enthusiastic participation of visitors across all stalls. WIC remains committed to continuing this meaningful tradition, ensuring that the Annual Charity Bazaar grows stronger each year in its mission to uplift underserved communities.
“WIC has been able to support 300 seniors and 250 children from institutions over a five-year rolling period through our social welfare program. Also, we have continued to sponsor the scholarship of 50 university students, empowering them to pursue their life goals through education. Additionally, through the funds raised from the proceeds committee BPCA One Time Initiative, we extended support to 11 institutions improving lives and bringing hope to many who needed it the most. So thank you once again to each one of you for always supporting the Women’s International Club, and as we look ahead to this 2025 Charity Bazaar, continue to be a hope, a symbol of hope, harmony, and humanity. Let us continue to weave a tapestry rich in understanding, compassion, and shared purpose,” said Nazneen Khubchandani, President Women’s International Club Jakarta.
