Jakarta’s dessert scene has a new destination. After captivating Blok M with daily sellouts and a star-studded launch, Butter Baby has opened its second Jakarta store at Central Park Mall. The expansion signals a bold step forward for the brand, which has quickly become a leader in the character-led dessert movement sweeping across Asia.
Far more than a pastry shop, Butter Baby is a fully realised universe built around its namesake, a wide-eyed, soft-cheeked alien from the glowing planet Butterlandia. Each outlet is imagined as part of this cosmic world, where storytelling, flavour, and design converge. The Blok M flagship established Butter Baby as both a culinary hotspot and a cultural experience, and the Central Park store builds on that foundation with an expanded menu, immersive interiors, and limited-edition creations.
Helmed by Chef Dedy Sutan Supriady, one of Southeast Asia’s most inventive pastry talents, the new outlet debuts several exclusive creations. Highlights include the BB Fried Chicken Sando, a savoury doughnut layered with crispy boneless chicken thigh, drizzled with house-made tomato ketchup and a spicy mayo kick; the Durian Donut, celebrating Asia’s king of fruit with a golden shell and rich creamy filling; and the Choco Crunch, a crisp doughnut filled with whipped chocolate ganache and gooey salted caramel.
These sit alongside Butter Baby’s signature crispy donuts (Indonesia’s first) in flavours such as Banana Crunch, Opor Crunch, Vanilla Crunch, and Matcha Crunch.

“Indonesia has always had a deep love for desserts,” says Chef Dedy. “With Butter Baby, I wanted to explore Asian flavours — pandan, durian, matcha, yuzu — in ways that feel new and exciting. It’s about taking the familiar and giving it a cosmic twist.”
Beyond these novelties, the Central Park outlet offers Butter Baby favourites such as Butter Toast, creative drinks like the Lychee Galaxy Jelly and Peanut Butter Latte, and a selection of signature doughnuts, ranging from the whimsical Disco Donut to the Mallow Yuzu Baby, Pandan Punch, Raspberry Shortcake, and Chocolate Nebula. All items are freshly made with halal-certified ingredients and 100% French butter from Normandy.

Designed by Harry Nuriev of Crosby Studios, the Central Park store reflects his Transformism aesthetic with a blend of chrome surfaces, soft lighting, and fluid curves. The space offers a multi-sensory backdrop where visitors can enjoy desserts and capture shareable moments.
“Central Park is one of Jakarta’s most energetic spaces,” says Nuriev. “We wanted this store to be a place where people can connect with Butter Baby and light up their socials, it’s a cosmic world made for joy and discovery.”
The new outlet is just the beginning of Butter Baby’s ambitious growth. “From our groundbreaking debut in Blok M, expanding into West Jakarta’s Central Park is an important step in our global vision,” says Shane Lewis, CEO and founding partner. “Next, we’re heading to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Terminal 3, with a 28-foot chrome Butter Baby and a wall of levitating donuts, before taking the brand across Southeast Asia and beyond.”
