November Update

New restaurants in Jakarta that opened in November 2025

Li Lian

Park Hyatt Jakarta has unveiled its first Chinese restaurant, Li Lian, bringing contemporary takes presented in grounded comfort. Located on Level 19, the restaurant looks out over Jakarta’s skyline with accentuated opulent design while maintaining the cosyness of a lived-in home. Within its walls are a verandah, a tea bar, two living rooms, and six private dining areas, each designed to host moments that feel personal, whether a family dinner or a small celebration.

Executive Chinese Chef Tan Kwang Aik leads the kitchen, bringing over two decades of experience from acclaimed hotels and a Michelin-starred restaurant. His menu focuses on precision and restraint, offering dishes that reinterpret Cantonese classics without losing their soul. The Peking duck, roasted over rambutan wood by Duck Specialties Chef Victor, becomes the restaurant’s quiet centrepiece, while plates such as wok-fried Wagyu beef tenderloin with Yunnan mushrooms and poached tiger grouper in pickled broth extend the theme of depth through simplicity.

Dim Sum Master Chef Huang introduces the Li Lian Signature Dim Sum Platter, and the tea bar completes the rhythm of the experience with curated brews. Overseeing the floor is Restaurant Manager Jerry Choo from Kuala Lumpur, who notes that the space is meant to feel familiar, a place to return to. With Li Lian, Park Hyatt Jakarta adds a new layer to its culinary profile, one that is calm, attentive, and deeply rooted in the pleasure of shared meals.

October Update

New restaurants in Jakarta that opened in October 2025

Jullien

Hidden just behind Galeries Lafayette at Pacific Place Mall, Jullien stands out with its brushed bronze canopy that sweeps like the hull of an old train. The space invites guests into a slower, more elegant time, somewhere between a Parisian café and a vintage carriage. As the latest creation from Artisan Kuliner Group, the restaurant brings authentic and humble bistro dining while paying homage to French illustrator Jean Jullien, whose signature minimalism and humour run through the restaurant’s details.

The menu, led by Corporate Chef Ika Rizqi Pradana, focuses on what he calls “French kampung cuisine.” Each dish captures the heart of home-style French cooking. Standouts include Roasted Chicken with fricassée butter sauce, Duck Leg Confit with Lyonnaise potatoes, and Seafood Linguine brightened with saffron and tomato. Desserts like Chocolate Fondant with whisky ice cream or Fresh Berries Sabayon strike the right balance between richness and restraint. For drinks, try the Croissant Martini or Jullien 75, both proof that whimsy and craft can share the same glass.

The Cutler Prime Rib

At Pacific Place Mall, The Cutler Prime Rib enters Jakarta’s steakhouse scene with confident promise, bringing together quality cuts, refined technique, and patient craftsmanship on every plate. At the helm is Chef-Owner Mandira, a Le Cordon Bleu–trained chef whose expertise shapes the restaurant’s commitment to high culinary standards.

Here, each serving of prime rib is slow-cooked and basted until perfectly tender, accompanied by a sauce simmered for 24 hours from beef bones and red wine. While the dining room is modest in size, the way it fuses Italian grace and French craftsmanship reflects its refined character. Anchored by a wine cellar that also serves as a showcase for thoughtful pairings, the setting encourages unhurried dinners to take their time and let the dialogue flow between courses and drinks. For steak lovers in search of something focused and sincere, you might want to consider this restaurant to start your journey with.

OSMO

Classics are called classics for a reason. They’re reliable, the ones that cannot go wrong, and usually the barometer to measure if a bar’s really good or not. At OSMO, they’re taking classics to the next level by reimagining them through a local lens while introducing Indonesia’s first Solera Whisky programme, blending three whisky styles using a method often reserved for winemaking.

The debut menu, No Big Deal, reflects its casual philosophy. Each drink draws inspiration from life’s small pleasures, wrapped in a nod to daily life’s to-do list that allows you to explore each option like a journey. Start with the Grocery List (turmeric and honeysuckle tequila with pandan and lime), and do not skip Skip Intro (shiso vodka with yuzu and green tea yoghurt), and Daddy’s Iced Tea (a smoky, whisky-forward highball) for a complete tipple experience.

And if you want to linger and make memories with your friends, their food options are great companies that offer comforting yet surprising bites like Smoked Duck Dry Ramen and Cireng Oncom.

Dualism

Located in SOL Collective Space, SCBD, Dualism is a cocktail bar built around the idea of contrast. Created by SwillFam, the venue features two opposing bar counters and a menu where each set of ingredients is expressed in two distinct cocktails — one bold, one delicate.

The first menu, Chapter I: The Founders, sets out the concept. Comedy and Tragedy present light versus dark interpretations, Marie Antoinette plays between fact and fiction with layers of cream, tea, and nuts, and Caravaggio contrasts fruit and wood, light and shadow. Memento divides into Mori, a still and serious drink, and Vivere, a fizzy, celebratory one. Indonesian ingredients such as bawang dayak and cuko appear alongside European influences, ensuring the drinks feel reinterpreted rather than imported.

The bar is led by Ghalim Pati and Aldho Goenawan, who balance concept and execution to keep each cocktail both creative and drinkable. With seasonal menus, guest shifts, and collaborations in the pipeline, Dualism positions itself as one of Jakarta’s most distinctive new bars.

Open Mon–Thu 5pm to 1am, Fri–Sat 5pm to 2am, closed Sun.

Le Bistro

Perched on the fifth floor of Vertu Harmoni Jakarta, Le Bistro channels Parisian charm with checkered floors, red booths, and an intimate 24-seat layout. The atmosphere turns livelier on weekends when accordion music adds to the French-inspired setting.

The menu blends French staples with international comfort food. Cauliflower cream soup opens the selection, while pastas come in multiple forms — from spaghetti to penne — with sauces including bolognese, carbonara, pesto, and aglio olio, each customisable with seafood, beef, or mushrooms. Burgers are served in brioche buns with grilled onions, mushrooms, and cheese, while the chimichanga sandwich nods to Mexican flavours with chicken, beans, and ranchero sauce.

The grill menu highlights Norwegian salmon, ribeye, tenderloin, and chicken breast, offered with vegetables, potatoes, and a choice of sauces from black pepper mushroom to mustard. Asian dishes such as kung pao chicken and tom yum talay further broaden the scope.

The drinks list combines international classics with tropical accents. The house cocktail Tiki Wiki mixes vodka, rum, pineapple, and passionfruit, but a full selection of classic cocktails, wines, and whiskies is also available. With its mix of Parisian atmosphere and global flexibility, Le Bistro appeals to diners looking for both chic ambience and variety.

Open daily 7am to 11pm.

Butter Baby

South Jakarta has a new sweet spot, and it’s coming from another planet! Hailing from “Butterlandia”, Baby Butter has officially brought his entire spaceship full of sweet buttery delights to Blok M. Founded by brothers Nick and Henry Burch, Butter Baby fuses character-led storytelling with indulgent treats and slick design. At the helm is Jakarta-born pastry maestro Chef Dedy Sutan Supriady, whose creations take the humble donut to dizzying heights, quite literally. Levitating donuts hover above chrome displays, each freshly made with premium halal-certified ingredients and rich New Zealand butter.

The line-up is inventive and Instagrammable. There’s the Banana Crunch, which marries the much beloved Indonesia’s banana fritters with cream cheese in a crispy shell; the Opor Ayam Crunch, a bold, savoury nod to Indonesian comfort food; and the Vanilla Cheese Crunch, oozing molten cheese. The Matcha Crunch offers a deep, earthy hit, while the Disco Donut explodes with sugary joy. For chocolate lovers, a double chocolate dream comes in the form of Chocolate Nebula, while the Ube is a delight cloaked in purple crumb and crowned with silky cream.

Beyond donuts, the Butter Toast is a scene-stealer; pillowy bread dipped in butter and honey, rolled in sugar, and topped with flavoured butters like honeycomb. Drinks keep pace with the fun from the refreshing Lychee Galaxy Butter Boba to the nutter Peanut Butter Latter and Crackling Pistachio.

Designed by Crosby Studio’s Harry Nuriev, the Blok M store is all chrome curves, soft light, and calm futuristic charm. In here, desserts aren’t just sweet but also fun.

June Update

New restaurants in Jakarta that opened in June 2025

Salty Fish

Located inside the SOL Collective space, SCBD, Salty Fish is an eclectic, music-forward cocktail bar promising a high-energy experience, paired with expertly crafted cocktails. This is the latest venue from the team that brought us one of Jakarta’s top nightlife hotspots, The Golden Tooth Bar – and with Owner-Bartender Kenny Soetomo at the helm, you can be sure the drinks are good.

Uber stylish, with a twist on the mid-century appeal and modernist charm, Salty Fish invites imbibers into this richly furnished space, where low slung furniture and lounges encourage sinking in for the night ahead. But Salty Fish has an alter ego: a hidden bar lies behind inviting drinkers into a funky, Bahaus-inspired drinking den known as The End. This is a cosy and colourful 30-seater, an intimate space to appreciate one’s drink and immediate company, and where the team conducts their cocktail experiments.

This two personality ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ experience extends into Salty Fish’s signature cocktail concept that reimagines seven timeless classics, each presented in two parts: one traditional and the other with a bold, boundary-pushing twist. Think of it as a tasting journey: familiar beginnings followed by unexpected turns. Whilst each cocktail can be enjoyed solo, they’re best enjoyed as a pair, designed to spark contrast and conversation.

The dual-format menu, includes highlights like: ‘Burnt Barley’, a smoky, layered evolution of the Chuhai, with Johnnie Walker Black, Lagavulin 16 Y.O., Oloroso Sherry, and roasted barley tea; ‘S.P.G.’ (Spiced Paloma Gimlet), a punchy Southeast Asian remix of the Paloma, blending tomato, grapefruit, Sichuan pepper, and a coconut cream wash; and ‘Kopi Susu’ (non-halal), an Espresso Martini packed with layers of flavours, with Pisco 1615 Quebranta, Gaillano L’autentico, Little Kiss, Coffee Shochu, Banana, Salted Butter, White Miso and Wildflower Honey. You’ll find craft beers from Jakarta-born brewery, Kulturale, and zero-proof drinks as creative as the cocktails. Guests will find equal comfort in the food with hearty bites like ‘SF Fillet O’ (crispy cod fish burger) to ‘Black Out Pie’, a wagyu beef pie cooked with Guinness.

Open Monday-Saturday, 5 PM-12 AM. Music kicks off at 9 PM, following the post-work drinks crowd.

ERRE & Urrechu Jakarta

Erre-&-Urrechu-Restaurant-Jakarta-Gran-Melia-8

Jakarta is no stranger to Spanish cuisine, but the recently opened ERRE & Urrechu Jakarta brings a little something different to the table, serving up the fiery flavours of the Basque Country.

“Classic Spanish cuisine is very Mediterranean, rich with olive oils, lots vegetables, whilst the Basque cuisine is known for its beef and its fish and seafood,” explains Chef Iñigo Urrechu, founder of the restaurant brand. “Here at ERRE & Urrechu, you have the best of both gastronomies!”

The new venue opens on the Lobby Floor of Gran Melia Jakarta, Kuningan, which is part of a renowned Spanish international hotel chain. It welcomes diners into a sophisticated, Mediterranean-inspired oasis in the city centre.

Inside the conservatory-style dining area, bathed in natural light, an olive tree stands as the centrepiece, surrounded by earth-toned leather seats, solid wood tables and rustic stone and brick details that gives ERRE & Urrechu Jakarta a tangible Spanish charm and warmth – a vision of CMV Architects, a design firm from Palma de Mallorca. The space is complemented by a European-style bar and two private rooms for more intimate occasions.

Embers Open Fire Grill

Embers Open Fire Grill offers a one-of-a-kind dining experience, surrounding a glowing open kitchen island, where chefs grill, sear, and flame dishes right before your eyes. A couple steps out of the lift onto the top floor of Swissôtel Living Jakarta Mega Kuningan, a new restaurant awaits with a menu full of Japanese and international flavours.

Dark wooden beams and ambient lighting evoke a modern Japanese aesthetic, but it’s the view of Jakarta’s skyline stretching into the distance and forming the very walls of the restaurant that steals the first glance. For solo diners, a row of seats by the windows offers a peaceful spot to enjoy the scenes.

The restaurant seats 134 guests comfortably and caters to a wide range of dietary needs, offering everything from gluten-free and vegetarian menus to lighter fare and salt-free options. The menu is driven by fire and nature, where each dish is anchored by the grill, celebrating smoke and char without overpowering the ingredients.

Signature dishes include the Dry Aged Tomahawk Ribeye, richly marbled, flame-grilled beef served with a trio of signature sauces-beurre blanc, miso butter, and shiso chimichurri. Vegetarians are far from an afterthought here. The Grilled Japanese Aubergine, caramelised with a miso–honey glaze, is a delicate balance of soft, savoury, with just a hint of sweetness.

The Wild Mushroom Risotto is another highlight: the perfect creaminess, with an earthy depth. For dessert, the Flambéed Pear with umeshu liqueur, served over spiced crumble and vanilla cream, offers a light finish. For something richer, the Matcha Lava Cake provides a warm and indulgent close to the meal.

With its open-plan design with industrial ceilings and unpolished concrete pillars, ABOUT US Brasserie evokes a rustic Scandinavian charm from the first entrance at the hip Gunarwarman street. The setting is effortlessly cool with sleek wooden tables that sit beneath soft, golden lighting that transforms the restaurant’s daytime buzz into a resto-bar’s seductive glow by night.

The core of the restaurant in Kebayoran Baru is to be a place to celebrate togetherness, with a concept that leans into Scandi-Asian cuisine, fusing the elegance of Nordic simplicity with bold Asian flavours. It is a marriage of flavours rarely seen in the robust Jakarta’s dining scene, yet somehow still feels familiar.

For their AM menu, ‘ABOUT US’ Breakfast is a classic that stands out– a plate of smoked salmon, creamy burrata, soft-boiled egg, avocado, and a punchy red pepper marmalade with gherkin sourdough. The Prawn Cake Benny, topped with a silken poached egg and ginger torch hollandaise, adds a bold twist to a familiar favourite, while the Wagyu Beef Dry Ramen offers a rich, umami-packed departure from the ordinary with a little spice kick.

As the day unfolds, more substantial options appear in their PM selections, ranging from grilled octopus atop chickpea hummus, the rich allure of Oxtail Osso Buco, to the melt-in-your-mouth indulgence of Chuck Ribs ‘Ssam’

Kindling

Kindling Jakarta

Jakarta’s dining scene welcomes a new addition with Kindling, a restaurant that seamlessly blends Asian flavours with French technique. Having been open since December 2024, Kindling is the vision of Chef Vallian Gunawan, who seeks to create a personal and memorable culinary experience through his refined approach to fusion cuisine. The name ‘Kindling’ symbolises the spark of inspiration, a small but powerful flame that ignites something greater.

Beyond the menu, Kindling’s setting adds another layer of depth to the dining experience. Housed in a building rich with history, the restaurant occupies what was once the private residence of Mrs Lily Kasoem, daughter of optical industry pioneer Atjoem Kasoem. The front section, including the terrace and main dining hall, was built in 1900, with additional structures added in 1970. Thoughtfully restored, the space retains its heritage while embracing a fresh, contemporary ambiance. Here, the past and present converge, creating an atmosphere that complements the restaurant’s culinary philosophy.

Open Tuesday to Saturday, 5.30pm to 11pm.

HAKŪJI Tearoom

Tucked away on Jl. Kemang 1 is HAKŪJI Tearoom, a Japanese café serving high-quality Matcha lattes and handcrafted sweets to pair.

As a Urasenke tea ceremony teacher, the tradition of sadō (the Japanese way of tea) inspired the idea of creating a tearoom that highlights what the ceremony is about: genuine hospitality and authentic, handcrafted teas and pairings. Not only does the tearoom serve up a variety of Ceremonial matcha and hojicha (roasted green tea), but their team takes the time to explain the process and the notes of each tea while they hand prepare your tea.

If you’re new to matcha and looking for something to get you started, content creator-turned-matcharista Jessica suggests their Cold Whisk Latte. This is a contemporary take on matcha lattes, prepared without water, only milk (of your choice), which creates a smoother, creamier taste. For those seeking a truly authentic cup, don’t miss out on their koicha (literally thick tea) or usucha (thin/frothy tea) which are accompanied by nerikiri, a Japanese sweet.

HAKŪJI also works closely with other smaller brands to co-create mouth-watering sweets like their Basque Burnt Cheesecake and Seasonal Nerikiri Wagashi.

Open daily from 9am to 9pm.

KNOTS

Knots Jakarta Kemang

Touched by the taste and texture of Lune Croissanterie – a world-class bakery founded by a former Formula 1 engineer; KNOTS has endeavoured to create their own delicacy destination here in Jakarta, a viennoiserie restaurant in newly re-energised Jl. Kemang Timur.

Each croissant undergoes a laborious three-day process of love, resulting in a rich yet flaky texture that melts in the mouth. Pastry highlights include the Parisian-inspired Ritz, a contemporary take on the classic Pain Suisse, and of course, the iconic Pain Au Chocolat

Beyond the buttery bounties, KNOTS has a lot to offer, including variations of its Basque Cheesecake which fuse flavours like Matcha, Espresso, and Valrhona chocolate. Don’t miss out on their other sweets, such as their Black Forest Cake, Financiers, and several unique items like The Pod, Dome, and Knothing Red. Complimenting this is their Asian fusion dishes, balancing out the menu with its tantalising savoury temptations. The final touch is its coffee blends, Knew Nothing and Knothing New. The former is perfect for black coffee lovers, whilst the latter is a tangy combination of Brazilian, Ethiopian, and Kerinci beans.

Open daily from 7 am to 10 pm.
